Sandra Ceballos is a multimedia artist and cultural actor. In 1994, she co-founded Espacio Aglutindor, Cuba’s first and longest-running independent art space, along with fellow artist Ezequiel Suarez. Ceballos’pioneering role as director of the country’s first alterative venue has enriched Havana’s cultural scene through ambitious and unorthodox programming, which has often tested the limits of the country’s state-run arts sector.

Ceballos’collages, drawings and paintings – executed in color pencil, gouache, watercolor or paint- often include text and can be described as psychologically charged political and social commentaries. She holds a fine arts degree from the prestigious San Alejandro Arts Academy in Havana and she has exhibited widely in the US, Europe and Latin America.
