Marcos Valella (b 1981, Miami) received a Masters of Fine Arts in Painting and Drawing from the University of Iowa, Iowa City, IA and a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Visual Arts from Florida International University, Miami, FL. He is the recipient of Here and There Grant, Bass Museum of Art and Mildred Pelzer Lynch Fellowship. Marcos Valella’s work is included in numerous public and private collections.

He also has been featured in such exhibitions as Grid’s World, Locust Projects, Miami, FL; Play-forms, Woodland Gallery, Chatham University, Pittsburgh; Fish Scales, Michael Jon Gallery, Miami, FL; Practices Remain, Regina Rex, New York, NY; Marcos Valella, Gallery Diet, Miami, FL; Series 5, Dimensions Variable, Miami, FL; New Work Miami 2010, Miami Art Museum, Miami, FL; Paintings and Palettes, Farside Gallery, Miami, FL; Present, Centro Cultural Español, Miami, FL; Painting’s Edge, Riverside Art Museum, Riverside, CA; and Pause, Blackbird Space, San Francisco, CA. He is one of the organizers of Fall Semester, an independent forum for critical discussion and has been included in various publications such as Artforum, The New Yorker, The Miami New Times, El Nuevo Herald, The Miami Rail, and Time Out New York.  Marcos lives and works in Miami, FL.
